Terry Jeynes

I started skiing back in the 80's when I was 15. My first lessons were at Gloucester in preparation for a school trip to Austria. I wasn't the best by far but I really enjoyed it. I started instructor training in 2006 and was signed off as a Snowsport England level 1 (club instructor) early in 2007, when I started teaching at Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre. Followed by level 2 (ASSI) in 2008, level 3 in 2010 and finally level 4 in 2016. I did a conversion course in early 2023 to gain my IASI level 2 as I felt it would be useful to have a snow qualification.

Over the years as an instructor I have taught many beginner lessons, lots of school groups, small children and ski schools. I ran the centre instructor training programme for a number of seasons as well as several rookie instructor courses, but out of all of these, the coaching sessions have always been my true passion. I enjoy helping skiers to develop their confidence, skill and love of skiing - even during lock-down, we held weekly "email coaching sessions" with exercises to do at home.

I have spent my working life as a farmer which meant I haven't always been able to ski as often as I'd like. Achieving that balance can be difficult but the mountains somehow have a way of resetting everything.

I hope that you will join me for a coaching session soon. Please feel free to ask any questions.
